Week 19 - Fixing Completed

The tiler has completed his work, most of the stone has arrived, they measured our ensuite stone incorrectly...

Painters have been booked in next week as the plasterer was finishing off today.

Unfortunately we are looking at delaying our handover to early August. Apparently there is a large trade shortage in SE Qld, plus plantation are building over 250 more homes than the previous year... Ah well...

Abey Undermount sink - I chose for the stone to over hang - this prevents water from being trapped and mould

Laundry with subway tiling!

Main Bathroom sink - Polar - more stones visible compared to downstairs

Still unstoned!

Week 18 Tiling - sneak peak

We met our tiler on site on Tuesday. We negotiated a price on doing tiles floor to ceiling at approx $100/wall, which was awesome!

Here is a sneak peak at whats been happening. He will hopefully be finished by weeks end.

The mosiac tiles look better than I imagined!

Main Floor tiles re-selected.

National Tiles was having a 25% off sale over the longweek, despite "Frank Walker's" voice being so annoying over the radio we snapped up a good deal!

We managed to buy "Belgium Stone Ice" at $33/m2

For a long time as you probably seen on our previous post, I was pretty set on glossy large format tiles. But after much research and thought and my wife! We decided against this due to maintenance and cleaning.

This has a beautiful textured feel on the surface as described like fine grain cement.

The other option was a Lappato version which was slightly more glossy on the surface but we didnt like it.
